About Us - Project Aims
“Creating a peaceful historical ‘parkland’ at the heart of the community of Heaton”
The Project aims to restore, manage and interpret Heaton Graveyard for the local community, visitors and wildlife and for future generations, by:
- restoring Heaton Graveyard to its original state of excellence, and, in so doing, create a safe, attractive and peaceful garden of remembrance and contemplation for families and the community, as well as a haven for wildlife
- developing the graveyard into a valuable educational resource, and encouraging the local community to visit and explore the wealth of local heritage on site
- establishing a sustainable management programme
