A LOCAL HERITAGE INITIATIVE

Yorkshire Water Volunteer Day

Yorkshire Water runs an extensive community action programme, providing support to communities through teams of employee volunteers to help enhance the natural and built environments in local areas.

For the third year running the Heaton Graveyard Community Project was delighted to welcome a team in June 2007 to give much needed help in clearing a section of graves. Unfortunately it rained very heavily all day, but such was the commitment of the team they returned again in August, when luckily it was sunny.

The team enjoyed the challenge, and those who had worked on the project before were particularly pleased to see the considerable progress that had been made over the year, unlike many projects which just fade away.

Many thanks to Yorkshire Water and their team, and we look forward to welcoming them again this year.
